5 To-Do’s While in Mallorca For Less Than a Week

Here it is – 5 to-do’s while in Mallorca for less than a week. I gathered some tips on where to go and what to do on the island within a short period of time (5/6 days). We were located in the north, but it is quite convenient to drive around Mallorca.

It is important to point out we always rent a car. To me – it is crucial to have a car in order to explore the island properly.

1. Alcudia Old Town

I’ll start with the place I feel I should recommend at first. We are always after some astonishing historical sights, but this one has got something different about it. It reminds me of Rome, Marrakesh and Verona at once! Alcudia Old Town contains of countless beautiful alleyways, colourful houses – all kept in a perfect condition. Getting lost in Alcudia Old Town is something I would highly recommend! There are some cute coffee and Sangria places around, and the beach is quite close – Port d’Alcudia only about 10 minutes driving away.

2. Cala Gat

It is said to be one of the most beautiful and exotic beaches of Mallorca, and I agree. Cala Gat is, so-to-say, hidden in between the cliffs, with the cristal clear water and the wild animals around. The beach beats the most exotic locations of Europe, the way I see it! I recommend to stop there for the half day (while exploring the north).  Remember to also take a walk around – the view from the cliffs is breath-taking!

3. Lighthouse Near Cala Ratjada

I must have mentioned I have a thing to all the kinds of  viewpoints. The lighthouse near Cala Ratjada was my Cartier Baiser Fou shooting location for a good reason –  the view of the endless blue(s) and the waves crushing on the cliffs is something I love seeing on pictures. I call this place a DEFINITIVE must-see while in Mallorca!

4. Port de Soller

It took us more than 1 hr ( actually it was almost 2 hrs) to make the 40km way to this beautiful beach (from Port d’Alcudia), but it was worth it! The serpentine road was quite a tricky one ( hearing my beloved Tomasz swearing every single time he had to overtake a cyclist was kind of funny), but definitely beautiful – with all the sights! Remember to ALLOW YOURSELF QUITE A LOT OF TIME, AS IT WILL TAKE YOU LONGER THAN YOU THINK.  The beach in Port de Soller doesn’t have the sand(what people are always after), but there is something magical about this place! You can sail to various Mallorca locations from there! You could also eat a delicious fish while watching the sunset, or get on a cycling trip with various bike companies based around there.

5.Palma de Mallorca Old Quarter

It seems a mainstream location, but I overheard (several times) it’s ‘no worth going there’. This is so not true! The old quarter of Palma reminds me of Maltese Mdina – the city I call one of the best places I have been to. The similarity has a specific reason – Palma and Mdina were both founded by Romans, which makes them so special. Take a walk in between the lovely alleyways, stop for a coffee and stay at TRES Hotel. You will absolutely love it!
