Italy is absolutely amazing for planning a honeymoon – there is no doubt about it. It’s not even fair – Italians have some WOW spots every few kilometers. From Milan to Catania, there are a lot of places to choose from. And what about the heart of the country? Is the capital of culture worth considering? Would a huge city be a good place to spend your ‘just married’ days’?
Here are a few reasons you should choose Rome as your honeymoon stop:
- It’s romantic!
Italy’s capital city has a lot of romantic cobbled streets – although it is not the first thing that comes to your mind when you think about Rome. You can truly get lost in the alleyways and make yourself fall in love with the magical paths leading to Fontana di Trevi or Forum Romanum. Despite the fact that Rome is one of Europe’s biggest cities, there are quite a lot of not-so-crowded spots. Right in the heart of the city.
2. History.
Truly, this should be my number one point but I didn’t wanted to start off with a history lesson. Everything you know from history is asociated with Rome. The city is known for military, political, and social institutions, the ancient Romans conquered vast amounts of land in Europe and northern Africa, built roads and aqueducts, and spread Latin, their language, far and wide. Use these classroom resources to teach middle schoolers about the empire of ancient Rome. A trip to Rome sets you in the center of those past events and you really feel like you time travelled to the times of ‘Gladiator’.
3. Food!
Because we are in the capital of good food… You can’t leave Rome without trying Cacio e Pepe or Carbonara (non veggies). Other reasons? You will find them every few steps…
