August Routine – Collagen Smoothie Recipe

The last bits of August are dedicated to agriculture, Polish lakes, picnics on the fields and, well, taking care of my health. Summer is a time of fresh fruits, vegs, salads, but also bbq, wine and treats, such as sorbets. I always try to find the healthy balance, so I exercise a lot and try to drink grapefruit juice/ green smoothie everyday. But routine means boredom, and when you are bored the only desire you actually have is ‘trying out something new’.

I got really excited for the opportunity to work with Collagen System by Amitamin – I love creating new smoothie recipes, so I could not wait to start. It is not my first adventure with collagen, but I have never had it within my diet. I have heard some miraculously good features about it, so I am eager to see the results after the first period of 3 months (my supply lasts for as long).

What do I mean by the term ‘ collagen’

Collagen is found in the bones, muscles, skin and tendons, where it forms a specific structure to provide strength. It is the most powerful protein in the human body, in the meantime being a substance that holds the body together. It’s what helps give our skin strength and elasticity, along with replacing dead skin cells. Another words – it works like a ‘glue’

The body’s collagen production naturally begins to slow down as we age – that is why you probably relate collagen to anti aging balms. That is also why collagen is a perfect dietary supplement for everyone taking care f their health and appearance. You can read and find out more about it on Amitamin’s website and order your own Skin Detox Radical Collagen  HERE

Why is collagen so beneficial?

  • it is very beneficial for bones
  • it improves hair and skin condition
  • it reduces cellulite
  • it reduces joint pains
  • it boosts metabolism = reduces weight
  • it boosts energy
  • it helps detox
  • it strengthens nails, teeth, hair

As for the supplements I started to use, they contain of  60 capsules and a powder. The powder can be consumed in a drink, such as juice or water, but I came up with a delicious smoothie recipe for you to get an inspiration from.

Pineapple Collagen Smoothie

  • 250 ml fresh orange juice
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 4 ice cubes
  • 1 thick slice of pineapple
  • 2/3 tbsp coconut flesh
  • 1 tbsp coconut sugar ( gives a hint of caramel flavour, so you can swap it with vanilla)
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds (optionable)
  • 1 tbsp sunflower seeds (optionable)

Mix all the ingredients together and enjoy ice cold.

*The measurements are optionable, I made a smoothie for me, my mom and my boyfriend.
