February Recap – LFW and Beauty Findings

I would never call February my favorite month of the year. In fact, I always tend to be a bit down in the dumps, and so are my friends and family. People wait for the spring and they are tired of the cold – perhaps travelling to an exotic country would be a great idea? We just got back from Israel with quite a lot of press material, but before I proceed on with the new destination article, I’d love to recap on how I spent this month. This year’s February was very cold indeed, but it was also full of the new beginnings, the new interesting findings and some very fast-forward projects were undertaken.

London Fashion Week

For the fashion industry February means the fashion month. I was really excited we got to attend London Fashion Week this year. We saw quite a lot of shows and took part in some great events, all in the most beautiful areas of London, such as Gloucester Road or the Strand. The biggest surprise? The Polish clothing label Reserved! They not only raised from the ashes, but aspire to become one of the most desirable fashion brands in the world!

For the shows, I decided to wear some feminine and vintage inspired outfits. I was inspired by the 1940’s fashion as well as the high street trends. My favorite S/S18 tendencies are the cord items, mix’n’match (dots and check) and the white boots! It is hard to believe the white shoes were considered ‘the biggest fashion fail’ just a few seasons ago. They were voted the best accessory of the season by some of the most influencial fashionistas and they were to be seen everywhere around London for the fashion week!

Hair : Cloud Nine

Cloud Nine – once again. I have been using Cloud Nine Irons since the beginning of November/end of October, the outcomes are beyond great and I have never received as many hair-compliments in my life! It was the only reasonable choice for London Fashion Week as well– not only they work really well, but leave your hair much more sleek and shiny.  It  stood well against the weather, which was not great… Another big plus? Cloud Nine Hair Irons are perfect for travelers! My straightener comes with a special cover and an extra plugin (EU and the UK). I have also got addicted to Cloud Nine professional hair brush, which you can use on wet hair as well. In general – you are able to see the result on my (@camelatte ) and The Blonde Flamingo’s (@theblondeflamingo ) Instagram accounts.

Beauty : Zoe By Qyk Sonic

Let me introdue you to my new Zoe. It is the first and only 3-in-1 cleansing, massaging and anti-aging device. Zoe’s advanced Silicone Bristles work at over 6000 pulsations per minute to gently cleanse and exfoliate the makeup, dirt, and oil that clog your pores and cause acne, while eliminating blemishes and minimizing the signs of aging. I started to apply all my favorite creams and serums using ZOE and I noticed my skin got much more delicate and healthy-looking – this is because ZOE allows all of my skincare products to be absorbed gentler, deeper and faster. Apart fom that, Zoe comes also ultra-hygenic and is perfect for all skin types. It is of a perfect travel size – I took it to my few February trips.

London Places

Élan Cafe was on our list for some time – it became very ‘Instagram popular’ among Londoners. We have always got this desire to visit  the photogenic coffee shops in London, and this one is definitely one of them. Well – for a good reason. Not only the interior is very inspiring and it makes you feel like you are taken to a fairy tale, but they serve some delicious pastries and coffee! I really recommend to order a raspberry croissant – perfect start of the day guaranteed. My tip? Well, the place is usually full on weekends, I would avoid heading there on Sunday. It is better to visit during the week, preferably in the morning. It gets full and overcrowded around afternoon, and weekend often means a long queue outside. The wait in the rain is not the way you want to start your day like. There is another Élan Cafe in Mayfair, which I promise to visit as soon as I can.

We Are Squirrel. Another of my must-see was found by an accident! I was on my way to the South Kensington tube station and I was passing by to buy some pastries at Maitre Choux. I spotted their menu and I must have seen some of my favorite ingredients, so I stepped inside. ‘Squirrel is an all day fast casual healthy food and drink concept set within such natural surroundings that even a squirrel would feel at home!’ You won’t notice from the outside, but this place makes you feel like you are in a country side! It is very spacious and does not  get too crowded. A massive plus? Their salad and bowls are delicious! I really recommend to order a delicious ‘Kale Yeah’ salad from their Treehouse Favourites.

Vogue Polska

I remember I was very excited once I found out there were some actions taken in order to bring Vogue Polska to life. The new polish edition is no different to the western Vogue(s) we all know. The first Vogue features 40% of adverts, cover story with two Polish famous and inspiring top models Anja Rubik and Małgorzata Bela. The stories and photo shoots are kept on the highest possible level! It did not, however, change the fact that the magazine delivered quite a lot of controversial feelings in Poland – it seems people did not fully understand the aesthetics  of Juergen Teller (the cover story photographer from Germany).

New Bag : Bvlgari Serpenti

I figured I should share my love to handbags more often – after all it is my second biggest obsession. I decided to treat myself to Bvlgari Serpenti for the spring. I have been craving this bag for some time, but decided to let it be and see whether I won’t change my mind. It is not a trend bag, but I see it quite often among the social media. I bought it for good – I doubt I would ever decide to sell it. It compliments the majority of my Spring/Summer looks and the quality leaves me speechless. I am also a great fan of the flap with a luxury snake lock. I would definitely put my new Bvlgari on my ‘FAV’ list <3
