December is the only month of the year when I really enjoy wearing sequins, shiny garments and oversized jewellery and style them up so I can look like a walking Christmas tree. I am a fan of shiny looks, which you could probably tell from my Insta feed. I tend to show them a lot during December.
I don’t own a lot of Christmas clothes. I have a capsule collection of around 10 sequined pieces and I style them up differently every year. I don’t see the point of wasting money on shiny looks if I am only going to wear them in December so I purchase around 3 new garments every year. It is pretty much the same with velvet dresses – I have a just few to wear and enjoy in December.
Both sequined dresses I show here are from Renee, an affordable fashion store from Poland. I was really happy with the quality of the black dress while the silver compliments my silhouette. The dresses aren’t heavy (unlike my other Liu Jo sequined dress) and fold really nicely against the body. As a matter of fact – any of them won’t make it to NYE parties this year but I think sequined pieces make a really lovely Christmas dinner outfit as well. I would just style them down and avoid any jewellery or heavy make-up for Christmas family gatherings. They would look lovely with some cute tights (perhaps dotted ones?) and a lovely delicate pair of earrings.
I love uplifting my outwear with some red accessories – a cute scarf would surely make a lovely addition this time of the year. Red, green and gold are the ‘festive colours’ so I made sure to stock myself with some cosy snuggly outwear elements. I would also recommend to get a two-sided puffer, perhaps black and gold or black and silver? I got myself a great quality silver/gold one and it is just great for both – festive looks and ski trips!
