Midsummer Wardrobe

As much as I hate to say this – midsummer is here.

I like the so-called ‘medium warm days’. As much as I love summer, when the temperature hits 30 degrees I don’t know what to do with my wardrobe. 26 grad celsius, however, allows me to wear my beloved vinatge dresses, wide leg pants and retro/vintage accessories.

I feel more ‘myself’ in Italy rather than on a trip to Asia, outfitwise. Being thankful for this year’s beautiful summer, I decided to drop you some of my recent outfit choices:

Brown Shades

Brown is one of my fav shades but I am surprised to see how underestimated this colour is. I am aware it is related to September and the wonderful autumn but I also love to wear it in the summer. It looks really great with the red accessories and red lipstick as well as with the basket bags and vintage pieces. The dress I am wearing was found at the vintage market and has recently become my favourite one. It is made of 100% viscose but has this great ‘old times’ feel about it. I am in search for the similar ones.

Speaking of brown, I am also a great fan of all things carmel – whether it is a chocolate filling, latte or just the color. Carmel, as one of the shades of beige, is considered to be the IT colour of S/S19 but it is not easy to find a dress in this particular shade. I’ve found this amazing shiny ‘carmelatte-like’ fabric and made another off-the-shoulder dress of it. Such a silhouette is not the ‘hottest’ anymore but I used to wear such dresses long before it became the ‘IT’ on Instagram. They are so retro!

Tube Dresses

Looking back at my Instagram feed page, I realised I have completely forgotten how much I love tube dresses.

This tube is made of love in Poland by one of my favorite brands, Taranko. They usually have quite a lot of tube dresses and office wear (you can convert them to everyday wear quite easily) in offer. While their summer collection is on sale (with -70% off!), you can get your hands on their new pre-fall exclusive pieces while they last. Great fabrics and best quality!

I designed this white tube myself. I was inspired by the square necklines from the streets of London. I think this trend is incredibly stylish, feminine and corresponding to the Renaissance era, the classical silhouette has made a modern comeback, appearing on the spring runways of designers like Carolina Herrera, Christian Dior, and Hermès, officially sealing its status as a full-blown trend.

70’s

The late 1970’s are always on my mind when it comes to fashion. First of all – it was a decade of David Bowie and the glam rock. Secondly, it was also the era of hippie and punk, which undoubtedly inspired the majority of fashion designers. Deep V-neck, halter neck, tube dresses, bootleg pants – I take every trend from this period. Sometimes, I re-watch ‘American Hussle’ only for Amy Adams wardrobe so I can get inspired. Being so fascinated, me and my cousin came up with the idea of Wide-Leg Cuffed Denim Trousers. We were inspired by Carolina Herrera S/S18 collection and the 70’s movies.

Red

Dress to impress & lose yourself. Red is undoubtedly a dominative color in my closet, especially on dresses. I even considered a red dress for my wedding! The way I see it, red dress is a great idea for every season of the year and, the way I see it, for every occasion. I always pick the ones made of viscose or a stiff fabric.

Maxi

I have this one favourite maxi I get out of the closet as soon as I see the first Sun. I think investing in such a timeless piece is a must. My maxi visited several countries, was at a wedding and a pre-wedding party, goes out for a glass of wine quite a lot, as well as…., serves as an everyday look every couple of weeks. This particular one is from TOVA, and you can still get it this year as they renew the production. It is their best-selling dress.

Suit

I think having a suit-like structured dress is crucial, not only for the ones working in an office. ‘Like office’ wardrobe is incredibly feminine, sexy and appropriate for various occasions, such as dinner parties and events. It would also make a great alternative to a small civil wedding or christening. The checked dress I am wearing is Cubic London and is made of polyester. I must admit I don’t own a lot of ‘100% polyester’ clothes but I am really surprised by how well this dress folds against my body and how versatile it is. I wore it with the white Adidas sneakers the other day and it looked incredibly well.

It is now discounted by 50% (now 45 GBP), get it here.
