London offers a lot, but it’s easy to get lost. You probably know the feeling, when you expect a lot, but end up in a place you don’t like, or have already been to a similar one. I always tend to google the nice places before I go somewhere, but let’s face it – the majority of the most positioned google sights are paid adverts, or non-updated info.
I like to explore cities in my own way, and simply enjoy sitting in a cafe, sipping a drink and watching what is going on around me. I like places ‘with a soul’ – wether it is a pink coffee shop serving fancy juices, or a cosy little hipster restaurant – I like the venues with the ‘it’ factor.
I prepared a short list of places I like to go, and would safely recommend to the people, who are planning a visit to London.
#1 COFFEE
Peggy Porschen Cakes
116 Ebury St, London SW1W 9QQ
Very cute place in one of the most prestigious districts in western London. A lot of fashionistas and bloggers are around. It’s all pink, which makes you feel like you are in a fairy tale.
NAC
41 N Audley St, London W1K 6ZP, United Kingdom
Another cool coffee shop, just off busy Oxford Street. You are in the central London, but you don’t feel like you are.
#2 DRINK
Vista at the Trafalgar
The Trafalgar Hotel, Trafalgar Hotel, 2 Spring Gardens, London SW1A 2TS, United Kingdom
My favorite rooftop bar with the magnificent view! Be aware you can spend more than you should:) Don’t forget to book a table before you go.
Palm Court Brasserie
Royal Opera House, 39 King St, London WC2E 8JS, United Kingdom
I discovered that vintage place recently, about a week ago. We had a great time sipping our prosecco – their interiors make you feel like you are travelling in time. Definitely recommend for all the vintage lovers!
#3 BREKKIE
Red Art Cafe
113 Kingsland High St, London E8 2PB, United Kingdom
Red Art is said to serve the best Turkish Menemen in London, according to Time Out, Sep 3, 2013. Well, I haven’t tried a lot of them-likes in my life, but this one was worth coming all the way to Dalston (up north)!
#4 FOOD
Mae Deli
21 Seymour Pl, London W1H 5BH, United Kingdom
It’s my favorite food blogger’s place. Deliciously Ella’s Mae Deli serves a lot of #foodporn dishes, and they are not only vegan 🙂 Visit her deli in Mayfair to try the peanutbutter smoothie and famous healthy lunch bowls!
Neal’s Yard
alight at Covent Garden
Just sit anywhere in Neal’s Yard, order something mediterranean, a glass of wine and enjoy the view of colorful and narrow streets. Oh, also – don’t try this on weekend 🙂
#5 JUNK FOOD/ STREET FOOD
Camden Market,
alight at Camden Station
I absolutely adore Camden! Not only for its atmosphere, but for its food-choice-heaven! Just imagine something you would be fancy eating… and be sure you WILL find it there! Also – it’s the best spot for Hungover-Sundays:)
The House of Gözleme – Green Lanes
‘Green Lanes in Haringey is to Turkish food what Savile Row is to suits‘. Well, they were absolutely right at londonist.com. I used to live in Haringey with my sister, and it became our tradition to grab Gözleme on our way to Finsbury Park on Sundays. Gözleme is a Turkish bread filled with delicious goodies such as lamb meat, spinach, halloumi etc. I would definitely recommend the House of Gozleme – it’s the place where the lady is preparing the ‘pastry’ is exposed for the outside.
#6 CHILL OUT
I absolutely adore the viewpoints. And who whould have thought London has such a great number of hills! My two favorite picnic/cigarette spots are:
Parliament Hill, alight at Gospel Oak
Primrose Hill, alight at Chalk Farm
There is also a shopping mall in the heart of the city – literally behind the magnificet St. Paul’s cathedral. Go to the top flor and order a glass of champagne, or simply go to the terrace. The entry is free of charge, and the view of London’s skyline is unforgettable.
One New Change Gallery
1 New Change, London EC4M 9AF, United Kingdom
great!
Thanks 🙂
I love post like this, interesting places and yummy food photos. I also like exploring different cafes when I’m in a new place. Would read this again if I find myself in London.
